Important Notes
- DO NOT throw the SIM card packaging. Refunds will not be provided if you fail to provide a photo of the SIM packaging.
- Ignore the expiry date or the plan name on the packaging, refer to our product page for the latest information
- To ensure a smooth activation, your SIM may be activated one day prior to the activation date, which mean the SIM will have 29 days of service
- Incompatible with Pixel phone – do not purchase this SIM
- Check network coverage in your intended travel areas; Coverage issues are outside our control and we do not offer refunds
Activation Procedure:
- Purchase the Telkomsel Indonesian SIM card from our website
- Receive a confirmation email with a Google Form link for your submission
- Wait for the SIM card to arrive at your Australian address before submitting the Google Form.
- Submit the following details at least 24 hours before arrival:
- Clear photo of an adult passport photo page (minimum 18 years old; Indonesian passports NOT eligible)
- Clear photo of the SIM card packaging by itself
- Clear photo of the actual phone with the IMEI number showing (Dial *#06# then take a photo of the actual phone)
- Flight arrival details
- Note: one passport is valid for one SIM card only
- Upon arrival in Indonesia, insert the SIM card and dial *363*369#, then select option 4 “redeem paket”
- Submit your details 2-5 days before arrival for pre-activation. Without submission, the SIM won’t work.
Local Indonesian SIM Card Requirements:
- Indonesian Government Policy: Requires tourists to submit personal data (IMEI and Passport) to unlock the mobile phone’s IMEI for use in Indonesia.
- Your data will be submitted to the local provider for activation only. TravelKon does not sell your data, which will be automatically deleted within 60 days. If you prefer not to share personal data, consider our roaming Indonesian physical SIM or eSIM options.
- Eligibility: Indonesian passport holders are not eligible for IMEI unlocking. Consider our roaming options instead.
For Indonesian Citizens (only if you have unlocked an IMEI) :
- Purchase this SIM and register using your KTP and KK by sending SMS: “REG NIK#KK#” to 4444.
- We are not responsible if the SIM does not work due to your phone’s IMEI being locked; no refunds will be provided in this case.
- To unlock your IMEI you must register with “bea cukai” and pay any applicable duties
Troubleshooting Guide
SIM not working? Don’t stress! Follow this guide to get you up and running.
- Disable VPN and any secondary SIM/eSIM lines (for dual SIM phones)
- Turn phone off, remove the SIM, insert the SIM back and turn phone on
- Confirm mobile data is sourced from our SIM (i.e. the correct SIM profile is selected)
- Dial *363*369# and choose no 4 “redeem paket”
- Wait up to 10 minutes for activation to occur
- APN: internet | Username: [blank] | Password: [blank] (Android: select manually)
- Set the network operator to automatic
- Restart your phone and/or turn on and off airplane mode

The sim card totally did not work at all. I followed every step in the instruction. But the card was not active. This is a fake card and fake service.

I pre-ordered the SIM cards and completed the set-up before my travel date, and it was that simple.
When we landed, we switched to the Telkomsel sim card, which worked immediately and had coverage throughout our time in Bali.
It’s super simple; I will use Telkomsel again.

As feedback, would be nice to get email feedback when information has been submitted via the form and also email confirmation when card has been activated. Small matters… didn’t change the fact the process was smooth and was a good experience.

From the moment I touched down in Bali, the network is immediately activated. It certainly saved me queuing at the airport. Downloading the Telkomsel app helps you to monitor your data as they kept sending you a text that your data is 500mb left. Coverage was great in the mountain.
