Things to know

  • The SIM’s provider is CHT (taiwanese operator)
  • Simple plug & play activation
  • No ID registration needed
  • Compatible with GSM devices
  • Works in all unlocked mobile phone devices (the SIM will NOT work on Modem/Mifi/Pocket Wifi devices)
  • There is no way to check data usage, you will need to use your mobile phone settings to track how much data have been used.

Troubleshooting Guide

Please insert the SIM card only when you land at your destination otherwise the SIM may be activated in Australia.

The SIM card activates when you insert the SIM card into your phone, our SIM generally works with no issues, however if you encounter any issues with the SIM, please check the following:

  1. Insert the SIM into your phone, turn off any other SIM and any VPN (if applicable)
  2. Turn data roaming on (Android: select all network)
  3. Turn on mobile data and wait at least 5-10 minutes for activation – do NOT change any settings 
  4. APN should be “internet” (if it is not automatic)
  5. Network operator should be automatically selected but if it isn’t please select manually to Spark Network in NZ
  6. Turn phone off, take out the SIM, insert the SIM back and turn phone on -> repeat the steps above
  7. Try a SIM reset <travelkon.com.au/simreset>
  8. Please contact us if the above steps still does not work

    It works as described. May be better to include specific instructions in delivery. I need to go to the website to get the apn name which may be a slight problem when oversears.

    I bought 2 SIMs and inserted them on landing in Wellington. Set both to roaming and 1 connected to 2Degrees and the other to Spark.
    Only Spark worked and I ended up having to manually set the other to Spark as well to get online.
    Good connectivity in Christchchurch, Lewis and Arthur’s Passes and Wellington, apart from walking trails.
