How early can I buy my eSIM or SIM Card?
You can purchase your eSIM or SIM card ahead of your travels. Our eSIMs typically have a 90-day validity period, however be sure to check the product page for more details.
You can keep your eSIM QR code safely in your email until you’re ready to use it, making it convenient to prepare for your trip in advance.
For physical SIM cards, check the expiry date listed on the product page.

How do I know if my device is eSIM compatible?
To check if your device supports eSIM, look for “Add eSIM” settings in your device’s settings menu or look for an “EID number by dialling *#06#.
Many newer smartphones and tablets from major brands like Apple, Google, Samsung, and others support eSIM technology, offering convenient connectivity without a physical SIM card.
You can determine if your device is unlocked by inserting a SIM card or adding an eSIM from a different carrier.
If your device successfully connects to the new carrier’s network and functions normally, it is likely to be unlocked.
Alternatively, you can contact your current carrier or check your device’s settings to confirm its unlock status.
If you have unlocked device you are ready to use our travel eSIMs or SIM cards.
Can I Install and set up the eSIM before my depature?
Yes, you can install and set up your eSIM before your departure. Make sure you read the instructions and the details on the product page.
Our eSIMs come with clear instructions that are easy to follow via email. If you see a new “eSIM profile” in your device settings then it is installed correctly.
This allows you to activate your eSIM in advance and be ready to use it as soon as you arrive at your destination, ensuring seamless connectivity from the moment you land.
Upon arrival simply turn data roaming on and ensure the mobile data is sourced from our eSIM!
When does my eSIM “plan” start?
Your eSIM plan “typically” starts when you connect to the local network for the first time in the destination country – (note: exclude some product, always check the product page)
This means you can conviniently “add your eSIM” prior to your departure so you can get connected as soon as you land!
Please always check each product page details as some eSIMs plan “will start” as soon as you add the eSIM.
Can I turn on both eSIM and/or physical SIM at the same time?

Yes, most of our Travel SIM cards and eSIMs support hotspot and tethering capabilities, allowing you to share your data connection with other devices like laptops or tablets.
Note some plans will limit hotspot speed such as our T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon plan – refer to product page for more details

How do I check my data usage?
You can check your data usage by accessing the settings on your device under “Cellular” or “Mobile Data.”
Apple device: Settings > Mobile > Current Period Roaming Android device: Settings > Connections > Data Usage > Billing Cyle and Data Warning
You can also check via travelkon.com.au/datausage for supported SIMs only or some local SIMs may also have method to check the data usage (refer to product page)
If I run out of data, can I top up?
For eSIM there is currently no top-up feature, if you need more data simply purchase another eSIM that suits your needs.
For physical SIM depending on which product top-up may be availanle, contact us for more details.
What if my trip is longer than 30 days?
No worries! Our eSIM and Travel SIM cards are designed to accommodate longer trips – we have plans that goes up to 365 days!
Simply check the validity period specified on the product page for your chosen SIM.
However, most of our plan are “30 days”, if your trip extends beyond the available period, you can simply purchase multiple SIMs to ensure continuous connectivity throughout your travel period.
During your trip if you need more data or additional days you can also simply purchase additional eSIMs via our website for instant delivery to your email!
What network do you use overseas?
We partner with leading network providers overseas to ensure reliable coverage and high-quality service for our Travel SIM cards and eSIMs.
Each product page specifies the network(s) available in your destination country.
Our SIMs can often connect to multiple local network providers providing flexibility to switch carriers and ensuring you get the best connection possible.
What kind of speed will I get?
Speeds can vary depending on your location, network coverage, and network conditions. Our Travel SIM cards and eSIMs offer 4G and 5G speeds.
Check the product details for specific speed specifications in your destination.
My Travel SIM or eSIM does not work, help!

Most of our eSIMs or SIM Cards are Data-Only, this means it does not have phone number and will not be able to make or receive calls & text
However our “local” Travel SIM cards and eSIMs may include both calls and text messaging, this includes Europe, USA, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam & Hong Kong SIMs
Most travellers won’t need calls & text with the various apps available which uses data for free (such as WhatsApp, Messenger, Skype, Viber & WeChat)
Can I use my existing WhatsApp number?
You can use your existing WhatsApp number with our Travel SIM cards and eSIMs.
You do not need to do anything, simply connect to the internet using our data services.
This allows you to stay in touch with your contacts using WhatsApp messaging and calls while enjoying seamless connectivity abroad.
How can I call locally whilst overseas?
If the eSIM or the SIM Card plan include local calls, simply dial the local number. Note some businesses also have WhatsApp numbes (free to call!)
If you are in Europe you will need to dial the country code before the number.
Note local calls usually only include standard landline and mobile phone numbers.
If the SIM plan does not include local calls use VoIP services such as Skype and Viber, you would need to purchase some credits which you can use to call locally with competitive rates using data from our SIM.
Can I keep my home number to make/receive calls & text whilst overseas?
Yes, you can keep your home number active and receive calls and text messages while overseas (note roaming charges may apply).
Although receiving text from your home country is usually free, which is useful for one-time-passwords – check with your carriers
Some carriers such as Telstra and Boost (Australia) allow Wi-Fi calling for free whilst overseas
How can I call and text my friends and family back home?
We recommend you to utilise apps such as WhatsApp, FaceTime, iMessages and others social apps to get in touch with your friends and family as these are free with an internet connection.
How do I make an international calls whilst overseas?
We recommend VoIP services such as Skype and Viber which are a cost effective. You will need to purchase some credits and have an internet connection with our SIMs.
